More Farewells

Again we say farewell, this time to Frank Lynn, men’s dean, who is moving with his wife Sunhee and daughters Brenda and Brianna to Pennsylvania. The Lynn family was a part of the Weimar family for a year and originally came from South Korea where Mr. Lynn taught English as a Second Language for a number of years at SDALI (Seventh-day Adventist Language Institute). He is now returning to his home state where he will be pursuing an M. Div (Masters of Divinity). We wish them God’s blessings.

Resident Archeologist

Dr. Karen Jensen, Science instructor at Weimar College, left Friday, June 15, to take part in a dinosaur dig at the Lance Formation in Wyoming. Southwestern Adventist University, in collaboration with Earth History Research Center, coordinates the annual dinosaur excavation and taphonomic research project. Dr. Jensen returned for her fifth time to camp in the hot dry dusty Wyoming winds, rain, and lightning storms. She also led out in the daily singing.

One of the interesting finds was a wishbone that belonged to a duckbilled dinosaur known as a “furcula”. This continued a major quest to document exact positioning using GPS (Global Positioning System) equipment for each bone with continued confirmation that the larger bones are in the lower section of the bone layer and the small bones are higher up. The bone layer is one meter deep and thick and extends for several square miles.
